Maui Vacation 2018: Activities

We’re back from our vacation to Hawaii. This was the most relaxing trip we’ve made to the islands. We purposely scheduled less. Although less activities were on the agenda, Ryan and I enjoyed several new adventures. I previously shared inexpensive island activities here and shared details from prior trips (here and here). I thought I’d share some of our favorite activities from this trip first. The succeeding posts will feature animal sanctuaries and the perfect hotel accommodation. Stay tuned for those! In the meantime, let’s explore more inexpensive ways to enjoy Maui.

Have you ever visited a Lavender Farm? The Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm is located on the slopes of Haleakalā, also known as upcountry. You can explore the farm by foot on your own or take a guided tour. Not only is lavender aplenty, the surrounding gardens are beautiful.

This 13.5-acre farm resides at an elevation of roughly 4000 feet, and the view is exceptional. It was Ryan’s favorite activity this trip. Be sure to visit the shop for a variety of lavender products to take home. You can also shop online.

Visiting a pumpkin patch is a fall favorite and tradition for many. I was thrilled to learn that Maui has a pumpkin patch, and it’s located only a few minutes away from the lavender farm.

Isn’t it beautiful? This scenic farm features family fun activities, including a corn maze and farm animals. The abundant flowers were beautiful, especially the sunflowers. The Kula Country Farm produce stand offers produce, flowers, jams, jellies, and fresh baked goods. Be sure to visit and support a local business.

Maui is the perfect place to cruise around and enjoy the scenery. If you’re heading towards Lahaina on the Honoapiilani Highway, stop by the McGregor Point Lighthouse. It’s over a century old.

As I’ll discuss in a future post, we once again visited Lanai. One of our favorite things is enjoying a short hike to Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock), located near the Four Seasons. This picturesque landmark is a must see! I highly recommend waking early to watch the sunrise.

Be sure to check back next Monday. You don’t want to miss the Four Seasons Resort Lanai!
