Whenever I’m deciding on a paint color for a bedroom, I find it’s best to stick to a neutral. Neutrals provide the perfect canvas for redecorating. I like to change our decor up seasonally. Some seasons and rooms are more dramatic than others. For spring, I’m going to brighten up our guest room. Up until now, I haven’t really bought any additional duvet covers for the guest bed. I have three to five for the other two beds in our home. Switching out a duvet can make a huge difference in a bedroom, and it’s super easy. I just purchased the duvet below from Pottery Barn for the guest room. I think it screams spring!
I got it for less than $50, which is a steal. Typically when I redecorate a room for a particular season, I just change out the bedding, maybe one or two decor pieces, and pillows. Nothing major but enough change to make it feel new and fresh. The guest room is a bit different though, because I have a very specific gallery wall in that room. The gallery wall is inspired by my love of photography and everything nautical.
A new vibrant floral pattern isn’t going to coordinate with this existing selection of prints. So I’m going switch out these photos for some colorful floral ones. Although it’s not challenging, it’s more work than I usually put forth. I’ve already started pulling some of my favorite shots together, see below.
Ryan and I like to visit botanical gardens, and we even had our family photo done at the one in Birmingham many years ago. There’s just something about walking through rows of flowers that I find peaceful. The smell is heavenly too! I think this new gallery wall and bedding will really brighten the space for spring. Don’t you? I’m really excited to see the transformation, and I’ll share photos soon. How do you embrace the changing the seasons? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below.
